How to Repair Unsightly Concrete

A concrete surface doesn't need to be structurally damaged to look bad: blemishes, colour inconsistency, and surface defects are enough to make a floor, wall or countertop look unfinished. Samson offers a range of products to correct exactly that, depending on the depth of the defect and the finish you're after.

Matching the product to the defect

  • Fairing Wash: for very thin applications by sponge, brush or roller (200–500 micron thickness). Pack size 20kg, yield 50m² per 20kg, water 40% by mass (8L per 20kg).
  • Fairing Coat: where the corrective process requires a trowelled-on thin coat up to 2mm thick. Pack size 20kg, yield 2kg/mm/m² (5m² per 20kg), water 25% by mass (5L per 20kg).
  • Fairing Top: for applications requiring a 2–5mm trowelled-on mortar covering. Pack size 20kg, yield 8kg/mm/m² (2.5m² per 20kg), water 20% by mass (4L per 20kg).
  • DecorTex: a brush or roller applied cement-based paint coat, for when an even colour is all that's required (100–200 micron thick per coat). Pack size 20kg, yield approx. 4m² per litre, water 40% by mass (8L per 20kg).

Choosing the right finish

Product selection depends on the severity of the defect and the final result required; all four are available in a variety of colours to suit particular aesthetic requirements. For detailed technical data and installation processes, request a Samson method statement for site instructions.
