With roots in the concrete industry dating back to the 1970s, Samson Technologies is a family-owned manufacturer of specialised cementitious products, including decorative coatings, concrete repair systems, structural grouts and floor hardeners. Based in Kya Sands, Randburg, we combine generations of industry knowledge with quality products, practical expertise and personalised technical support.

Where It All Began
David Samson acquires Sternson (Pty) Ltd, laying the foundation for a family legacy in the concrete industry.
His extensive knowledge and expertise earn him international recognition, with experience spanning South Africa, the USA, Canada, Colombia, Britain, Poland, China, Malaysia and Singapore. His contribution to the industry also sees him serve two non-consecutive years as President of the Concrete Society of Southern Africa.

The Samson Name Takes Shape
Building on decades of industry experience, David Samson establishes Samson Construction Products, further strengthening the family's presence in the concrete industry.

The Next Generation
David's daughter, Janet, begins her journey in the industry, starting in reception and administration.
Over the years, she gains invaluable hands-on experience across production planning, quality assurance, product formulation, financial management and supply chain management, developing a comprehensive understanding of the business from the ground up.

A New Chapter
Samson Construction Products is sold to BASF Construction Chemicals.
Janet continues her career with BASF for six years, gaining further experience in internal sales and production planning management.

Driven by a shared passion for the industry, David, Janet, her husband Sarel and two business partners establish Samson Technologies.
Built on generations of knowledge and experience, the new company places quality, technical expertise and personal customer relationships at the heart of its operations, ensuring direct access to the people who know the products and make the decisions.

Growth and Independence
Samson Technologies relocates from Olivedale to Kya Sands, Randburg, marking an important chapter in the company's growth.
In 2021, Janet van Zyl becomes the sole member of Samson Technologies, continuing the family legacy with a clear vision for the future.

Three generations later, Samson Technologies continues to grow under the leadership of Janet, alongside Sarel and their son David.
Sarel van Zyl plays an integral role in Samson Technologies, bringing valuable practical experience and hands-on technical expertise to the business. With a strong understanding of site conditions, product applications and the challenges faced by contractors, Sarel provides practical guidance and on-site support to ensure products are correctly specified and applied. His approach reflects Samson's commitment to offering more than just quality products — providing customers with knowledgeable advice, practical solutions and personal service.
David Van Zyl is currently completing his studies in Concrete Technology alongside Sarel and Janet in understanding the broad business operations.
With a portfolio of over 60 specialised products, eight distributors nationwide and an expanding footprint, Samson remains committed to the values on which the family business was built: quality, integrity, technical expertise and personalised service.

From the owner
This industry isn’t just something I stepped into. It’s part of who I am. My first memories of factory visits go back to when I was two years old, playing on sand heaps and turning bucket lids into frisbees for the dogs while production ran in our backyard.
Concrete might seem like an unusual passion, especially for a woman, but I’ve always been fascinated by it. Watching how a cement powder hydrates and undergoes crystalline growth to become a durable construction material still amazes me.
I truly believe that the heart and soul of any business lies in its integrity. The construction industry is very much a no-nonsense environment, and I’ve always believed in delivering high-quality products and information, without the hype.
